I really liked how Amazon made us feel part of the time right away, we were handed a big project from the start and we never felt like a traditional intern.

What I wish was different

I wish there would have been more time to learn the system before having to work on the project. It was hard balancing learning what everything was and trying to make an impact at the same time.

Advice

Ask questions, don’t be afraid to ask for help, let your manager know if something is unclear for you, and make sure that you have fun more than you’re stressing out because the time goes by fast.

I wish I had communicated better at getting to know the expectations of an intern and what else I was capable of doing in my role. I also wish I had travelled to different Amazon locations around me.

Advice

Learn how to be self-sustaining in the things you learn and do. In a big company with a fast paced environment, there is not always someone to watch your progress and make sure you hit certain steps. If you hold yourself accountable to your knowledge and performance, you will ensure you have a fulfilling time in the role.

What I liked

I like the hourly pays and benefits that comes with the job in which a big benefit that affects me mostly are the employee discounts I can get on technology, shoes, and more. I like how Amazon is so broadly considerate when it comes to employees because they provide and act differently when donating to Black Lives Matter, provide COVID masks, free T-shirts, pain medicine vending machines, and much more that normal businesses wouldn't have.

What I wish was different

I wished I had been available to more training when I first started because I was given a trainer who was inexperienced in the role I applied for. Also, I do know it's a big warehouse, but I would decrease the gap in the interpersonal relationships between employees and managers.

Advice

I would suggest knowing your limits physically and mentally because it honestly is a lot of hard work but for a decent pay. Always ask questions even the ones you are sure of because there could be something you've misinterpreted. I would suggest apply if you have your own car.

What I liked

I like the diversity of the people working there. I also like the fact they can accommodate your schedule if your a student. I also like the flexible hours.
